Aromatherapy Skincare Bush Essentials

Skin Care As Nature Intended

Bush Essentials Skincare products are beautifully moisturising, soothing and healing for whole of body use. This is due to the blends of Essential Oils, vegetable oils and a few marine sourced ingredients. These oils actually penetrate the skin and keep on working, long after application.  There are no mineral oils to block the pores, alcohols or sodium laureth sulphate to dry the skin out or any other product that is detrimental to the skin.

Products are made in Australia by hand and all sourced in Australia, apart from the Patchouli which is too valuable to leave out.

Lemon myrtle
This very lemony, beautiful, Australian oil has been used from before white settlement of this country by the aboriginals for healing and flavouring foods. It is antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral. Its antibacterial properties enable this oil to be effective in the treatment of skin micro-organisms associated with cuts, bites, acne, tinea, cold sores and warts. It is also very beneficial in assisting with relief from respiratory conditions, sinus and hay-fever. Lemon Myrtle is also an insect repellent and conditioner for nails and cuticles.
Patchouli is a wonderful moisturising, tissue regenerator which assists the skin to look younger. It does this by healing wounds, sores, cracked, and rough skin with less scarring than would otherwise be the case. It can be used for dry skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and scalp disorders; fungal infections, acne and as an insect repellent.
Bergamot is sourced from the fruit of the Citrus aurantium bergamia. It has a slight citrus aroma and is used in Earl Gray Tea. It has antifungal and antiseptic properties. It is useful for oily skin conditions and acne, wounds and herpes.
Lime is another citrus derived oil that has astringent, toning and refreshing properties. It assists in cleaning oily, congested skin and acne; used for herpes and is a circulation booster.
Peppermint is a refreshing, cooling oil which reduces irritation of inflamed, over-heated or itchy skin by constricting the capillaries. It is beneficial in the treatment of acne, oily skin and is a must in any blends to be applied to the feet. Peppermint is another good oil for respiratory conditions. It is an oil which is very reinvigorating to the mind and body while not being overstimulating.

Macadamia Oil is highly nourishing and absorbs very easily into the skin as it is the closest oil in composition to the skin’s natural oil, sebum. Because of this it is highly beneficial in the replacement of sebum as the skin ages and becomes dryer. This is complemented by the Vitamin E and antioxidants it contains.
Jojoba Oil resembles the body’s sebum and has moisturising and healing properties. It is suitable for all skin types: dry, oily or sensitive. It is an excellent emollient for the skin and beneficial for skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It is also useful for dry scalp conditions.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It promotes the production of collagen and elastin that improve skin elasticity. This then prevents moisture loss on the skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so giving a younger looking skin. It protects from and soothes past UV damage, speeds up the regeneration of skin cells thus minimising scar tissue. Vitamin E is beneficial for the treatment of psoriasis, eczema amd relieves itching while moisturising the skin.
Glycerine is a humectant. This means that it attracts moisture from the atmosphere into the skin and so helps keep skin moisturised and nourished. It is good for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema and guards against bacterial infection. It is also a cleanser for oily skin as it prevents and heals acne related skin problems.
Coconut is rich in antioxidants, has strong antifungal and antibacterial properties which help fight skin infections. It is effective for dry, damaged hair and dandruff and may help rosacea. It is also a natural sunscreen, screening out up to 20% of the suns rays.
Rosehip has recently come to notice as rejuvanative skin care oil. It has been shown to reduce wrinkles, signs of premature aging and to help counter the effects of the sun. It is also a nail strengthener and cuticle conditioner.
Sunflower Oil is beneficial in a blend with other oils as it contains Vitamins A, D, and B complex and is also rich in minerals. It helps to retain moisture in the skin.
Almond Oil’s light texture makes it easily absorbed by the skin. It is good for inflamed, dry, mature, itchy and sensitive skins. It is antimicrobial and a natural sunscreen, screening out up to 25% of the suns rays.
Castor Oil is a good conditioner for dry or damaged hair. It is beneficial for acne, scar tissue, inflamed, irritated, itchy and sensitive skin.
